During this 2-day workshop we will focus on the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Through practice, problem solving challenges and experimenting with new techniques you will develop skills in a fun and creative atmosphere.
This workshop is suitable for all levels, anyone who wants to improve their throwing and dedicate two full days to learning. If you have never tried wheel throwing before, this may be tiring.
Alisha will provide detailed demonstrations, one to one guidance and lead group discussions throughout the workshop.
Materials and firing for 2 larger or 4 smaller items are included and a vegetarian lunch provided for both days

Two day decorative vases workshop with Alisha Gent 15th & 16th August £250

During this 2-day workshop we will focus on creating both functional and decorative vases, ranging from simple, minimalist forms to more ornate and expressive designs.
We will begin by looking at examples of thrown vases, sketching ideas, and exploring mark making and design before moving to the wheel. Working in sections will also allow you to scale up your throwing and create larger forms. You will be encouraged to add sprigs or hand make sculptural embellishments and use slips for colour or design.
This workshop is suitable for people with some experience of throwing who are comfortable throwing cylinders
